Why Choose a Holland Lop?
Holland Lops are smart, silly, and totally lovable. With the right care, they'll bounce around your home β and your heart β for 7 to 10 happy years. So give them hay, give them hugs, and enjoy every precious hop along the way!
General Care Guide: Bunny Basics
- Habitat: A roomy cage or pen where your bun can stretch, with a litter box (yes, they can be trained!) and cozy spots to nap. Let them out daily for supervised playtime.
- Grooming: Holland Lops don't need haircuts, but a gentle brush once a week (more during shedding season) keeps fur from flying. Trim those nails monthly!
- Bonding time: They thrive on affection and socializing. Pet them gently, talk softly, and respect their space. They'll be nudging you for cuddles in no time!
Feeding Guide: What's on the Bunny Menu?
Your Holland Lop may be small, but their appetite for healthy eats is big!
Daily Diet Must-Haves:
- Hay, hay, and more hay! Unlimited Timothy hay keeps their digestion in check and teeth healthy.
- Fresh greens like romaine, parsley, cilantro, and dandelion. Mix it up!
- A small serving of high-fiber pellets (about ΒΌ cup per 5 lbs of bunny).
Treats?
Keep them occasional. Think: a tiny slice of banana or a baby carrot. ππ₯
Avoid:
- Iceberg lettuce
- Onions
- Chocolate (never!)
- Anything processed or sugary
